IDEAS is designed to prepare graduate students not only for careers in academia, but for the larger number of position in industry open to data scientists. IDEAS will help to prepare students to work in a collaborative, global scientific community by improving their leadership, communication, teamwork, mentoring, and management skills. To achieve these outcomes, a number of training, workshop, outreach, and collaborative opportunities are open to IDEAS trainees.
